Guangzhou (Canton) Tours
Cantonese speaking
people originally came from Guangdong province. Today, its capital,
Guangzhou, is one of the most important industrial and trading centres
in southern China. There is a speedy and efficient expressway as well
as rail links between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The Guangzhou Tour
normally includes attractions in Shekou, Shenzhen or Lotus Mountain in
Panyu in the morning. The tour continues with stops in Guangzhou after
lunch.
Shekou/Shenzhen and Guangzhou Tour
Take in Shekou's sights by coach or ferry, including a kindergarten
(school days only), free trading local market and exhibition centre of
terracotta warriors and horses. The tour continues to Guangzhou for
lunch and a visit to its cultural and heritage highlights. These
include Dr Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Chen Clan's Ancestral Hall and
Six Banyan Temple. Return to Hong Kong by coach or train in the late

Lotus Mountain and Guangzhou Tour
Take a leisurely catamaran ride to Panyu. Visit Lotus Mountain, an
old quarry site. An hour's walk around the mountain offers views of
interesting cliff and rock formations, and a view of one of China's
tallest outdoor Kwan Yin statues. The tour continues to Guangzhou to
visit its cultural and heritage highlights, including a Buddhist
temple, Dr Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chen Clan's Ancestral Hall (a
fine example of Qing architecture). Return to Hong Kong in the late
afternoon/early evening by train.

Macau Tours
A tour to the neighbouring
enclave of Macau is an excursion to a Mediterranean town with
historical and cultural flair. A 55-minute jetfoil journey across the
South China Sea and the Pearl Estuary whisks visitors into Macau,
located on the western side of Pearl River Delta. Under Portuguese
sovereignty for four centuries, tiny mainland Macau contains many
historical monuments, including the famous ruined facade of St. Paul's
Church, its border gate with the motherland and the 14th-Century Kun
Yam Temple. There is also free time for individual exploration (Macau
also has two attractive offshore islands connected to the mainland by

The Shenzhen Special
Economic Zone lies across the Hong Kong border on the other side of
Shenzhen River, the natural border between Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region and mainland China. The morning tour includes
transfer by coach or through-train to the border, where a road bridge
leads into Shenzhen City. Stops in the city include a visit to a
kindergarten (school days only) and a free trading local market.
Visitors also have the option of touring one of three theme parks in
Shenzhen. There's Splendid China, which boasts more than 70 famous
scenic wonders of China in miniature. Culture buffs may opt for the
China Folk Culture Village, featuring the folk art, customs and
dwellings of ethnic groups. Or there's Window of the World which
features some of the world's most famous landmarks in miniature. Tours
usually finish in the late afternoon/early evening. The afternoon
departure includes the evening parades at either China Folk Culture
Village or Window of the World. It returns to Hong Kong by train late
at night.
China Folk Culture Village Tour & Carnival Extravaganza
China Folk Culture Village is situated by the beautiful Shenzhen Bay
and covers an area of 180,000 sq.m. It is the epitome of all that is
good and great in China. It is home to various national minorities,
and their diverse forms of folk arts and culture. When night falls, a
massive carnival is held. This colourful extravaganza of ethnic
performances which includes a parade, is a very entertaining
spectacle.
Window of the World Tour & Carnival Extravaganza
Window of the World is a large theme park near Shenzhen Bay covering
an area of 480,000 sq.m. Besides breathtaking natural landscapes, it
boasts various miniature world wonders such as the 108-metre-tall
Eiffel Tower. When the park lights up at night, hundreds of artists
put on a gala performance of song and dance that is simply
electrifying.

Zhongshan is China's
fastest-developing Special Economic Zone in the Pearl River Delta and
is the birthplace of Dr Sun Yat-sen, the founder of modern China. The
tour includes visits to the newly-opened Pedestrian Street Market and
the river village community at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta,
renowned for its waterways, fruit plantations and fish farms. Tour may
go via Macau with a short city tour or go directly to Zhongshan by
high-speed ferry.
