  • Artsonje Center
    Address :

    Description :
    Artsonje Center is an art complex which was built in 1998. It has a short history but is famous for exhibiting high quality artwork. As an art complex, in addition to regular art exhibitions, movies, dance & music performances and plays are also shown here. On the B1 floor there is an art hall with a capacity of 250 people. Exquisite lightning and audiovisual system equipment are used for showing movies, performances and symposiums. At the art hall, many reviews on movies of the dramatic lives of artists are shown. Other events range from international concerts to project exhibitions of German filmmakers. If you want to relax, head to the traditional Korean house hall, Hanokgwan on the 1st floor. It boasts a unique architecture of modernized traditional Korean style. It is surrounded by bamboo, making it just the place for visitors to rest. It is also used for exhibition space from time to time. Near Artsonje Center is the Gyeongbokgung Palace and Insa-dong.

  • Cecil Theater
    Address : 3-7Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul
    Description :
    Established in 1976, Cecil Theater is a very prominent theater. The first five Korean Film Festivals were held here, making it the heart of Korean theaters. It is a theater steeped in tradition, and was reopened not long ago, with its facilities modernized. The high and narrow stage was lowered for better viewing, and the stage was widened to a greater scale. The lobby is especially fancy. It always carries a nice scent of espresso, which is provided free of charge. It is open everyday from noon to 1 p.m. even on days with no performances, for local office workers. Cecil Theater is known for the view of its surroundings. The spacious path leading to the theater is surrounded by stonewalls. Beside the trail is the Cathedral of the Korean Anglican Church. With its classical architecture and flowering trees, it is an absolutely beautiful sight. It is especially elegant and beautiful during spring and autumn. You can also visit Deoksugung Palace, Jeong-dong Street and City Hall in the neighborhood.

  • Central 6 Cinema
    Address : Central City B1, 19-3 Banpo 4-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul
    Description :
    Central 6 Cinema is a total amusement complex located at Central City. It opened in the year 2000 and has six theaters. The ticketing system here is an automatic, computer based system. The audience can login online, check the seat layout and choose where to sit. To help the parents of youngsters, there are auxiliary seats for children in each theater. Also, there are air fresheners in each theater to create a comfortable atmosphere for the audience. Though it is not big in size there are a few small things for the convenience of the audience. You may have a meal or a snack before or after the movie. Other than the theater and restaurants there is a department store, an outstanding bookstore both in size and quality, and cafes to relax in. Last but not least the Express Bus Terminal is directly connected so you can spend the extra time with other fun activities before you ride the bus. It is also convenient to come and go by subway because there are two connecting subway lines.

    Description :
    CGV is the No.1 theater on the Customer Satisfaction Index. Approximately 50,000 people go to the twelve CGV theater complexes in Korea everyday. CGV Gangbyeon was the first Multiplex theater opening in 1998. The success of CGV Gangbyeon later spawned many multiplex theaters. CGV Gangbyeon has 11 theaters which gives you many choices as to what to watch. The high-tech stylish interior welcomes you as if you have walked into a four-star hotel. The chairs are comfortable like the first-class seats of an airplane. The original cypress scents help to create a comfortable atmosphere. For the convenience of the audience the restrooms are made six times as big as the normal theater restrooms. They are luxurious and there are also powder rooms - a space exclusively for women. After the movie, you can stop by the belvedere. The awesome scenery of the Hangang River will make it worth going to it because TechnoMart stands right next to the river. If you do not want to watch a movie, you can go to the arcade or go to a cafe and relax. You can also visit the electronics shopping mall at TechnoMart. If you get tired after shopping, you can go to the restaurant floor to the food court. You will find all kinds of dishes there. You can get your favorites or try new Korean dishes.

  • CGV Myeongdong

    Description :
    Opened in December 2001, CGV Myeongdong attracts its audiences with its very up-to-date modern facilities. It has five feature theaters. It may not have many screens but it provides a cozy atmosphere. You will feel like you entered a neat and luxurious hotel when you walk into the CGV lobby. Different from most other theaters, its lighting is bright and beautiful. CGV Myeongdong is located inside the Avatar building. You can briefly shop along with the movie. On floors 1-3 there are fashion shops, and fashion accessory shops on the 4th floor. If you want to grab a bite before the movie, stop by the food-court on the 7th floor. You can find many restaurants there. At the B2 floor you can find a pub and a bar. After the movie you can head to the B2 floor. There are many places to go outside the Avatar Building in Myeongdong. This area is clustered with various fashion shops, cosmetic shops, character shops, restaurants and bars. Don’t miss visiting the big shopping mall, Migliore. You will be surprised at the various kinds of clothes. Myeongdong is a large business area but the shops start to close after 10:30pm. It is better to visit Myeongdong in the daytime.

  • CineCube
    Address : 226 Shinmun-ro 1(il)-ga, Jongno-gu, Seoul
    Description :
    CineCube is famous for showing artistic films. Movies that are hard to find at other theaters are shown at CineCube. Those who are movie manias often come to this theater. The theater only has two screens, but it has been renovated and recreated to show off a fresh new atmosphere. The theater boasts a state-of-the-art elevator which adds to the fun of visiting the theater. One feature of the theater that cannot be left out is the annual screening of special films. The schedule is set up beforehand so moviegoers can avoid long lines on the day of the show. It makes the anticipation of the movie twice as fun. Nearby the theater you can find the Seoul Museum of History. It is a two-minute walk from the theater. For those who are art lovers, there is also the Deoksugung Palace Art Museum nearby as well. Also nearby are the Sejong Cultural Arts Center and Gwanghwamun. After seeing a movie or going through the sites nearby, one may work up an appetite. Take a trip to the basement of CineCube and that can all be taken care of. You can find fusion restaurants, pasta, pizza, and convenience stores. Also, on the B2 floor there is a food court with many fast food restaurants.

  • City Book Store
    Address : 816 Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu
    Description :
    City Book Store is located at Gangnam Station Junction, the most prominent business center in Seoul. It is a favorite place for youths, as there are all types of bars, restaurants, and theaters in the area. City Book Store had much success after opening, as it was the first bookstore to be open till late hours. It is more than a simple bookstore: it is a favorite place for those who work late, and couples on dates. Half the people who visit late come between 9pm and 10pm, so avoid coming at this time if you want to quietly search for books. It is a good place to visit after touring the area, or after watching a movie. There are knowledgeable workers in each section of the bookstore, so if you need help, feel free to ask. Within the building there is the City Theater, Pizza Hut, restaurants and McDonald's, and there is a large fashion mall next door. In front of the fashion mall, you can sometimes see live performances of independent bands. Try not to just pass by; watch the performance if you can. Enjoy it together with the youths having fun there.

  • City Cinema

    Description :
    City Cinema is located at the center of Seoul, near Gangnam subway station. Since Gangnam station is popular with the younger generation, you will feel the lively city atmosphere. The luxurious appearance of the building will catch your eye and the stylish interior will match the outlook. It is moderately built with 5 theaters, but there is a bookstore, a fast-food restaurant and a pizza restaurant, which completes the total entertainment space. The City Bookstore (B1) is open until 2 a.m. so you can spend time reading even after a late movie. The area surrounding City Cinema is famous for quality restaurants, bars and cafes. Find a restaurant you like and have a great time with other young folks. You will be surprised at the sight of the crowds on the weekends.

  • COEX Aquarium
    Address : 159 Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
    Description :
    The COEX Aquarium is the only theme-oriented aquarium in Korea. There are 90 exhibition water tanks and 140 tanks used for breeding. There are about 600 species and 40,000 oceanic fish altogether. The tanks are divided into six different sections and are viewed in a tunnel like atmosphere. The first exhibit is the 'The Inca Empire'. This exhibit displays the origins and relics from the Incan Empire. At the end of the Incan Empire, the 'Amazonian World' awaits. In this exhibit tropical fish and cute otters can be seen. In the seashore section of the 'Amazonian World’, sharks and stingrays can be viewed. The end of the 'Amazonian World’ leads to 'Seven Seas'. In romantic settings, fishes from the Mediterranean to the North and South Poles can be seen. After that, you can experience the ‘Ocean Kingdom’ in which displays dozens of sharks, polar bears, and numerous fish. You can see different types of fish swimming above you in the ceiling. The next exhibit 'Marine Touch' allows visitors to pet and play with baby sharks. The last exhibit 'Deep Blue Sea' shows octopuses and other fish that live deep in the sea. The aquarium not only offers a display of tropical fish but also offers fresh seafood as well. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the 'Deep Blue Sea' exhibit while dining on delicious seafood. There is also a snack corner and an open cafe for others. Finally, the gift shop offers a wide array of cute character accessories.

  • Daehan Theater
    Address : 125 Chungmuro 4(sa)-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul
    Description :
    First opened in 1955 and renovated in 2001, Daehan Theater has a long history. It has 8 wide-screens, state-of-the-art chairs and sound system. At the rooftop there is an outdoor lounge which is similar to a garden. Here you can enjoy the relaxing space in the middle of the city. Daehan Theater also boasts an exclusive entrance from Chungmuro subway station. The theater building consists of 9 floors in total. The ticket boxes are on the B1 and 1st floor. On the B1 floor there is a ticket vending machine. There are snack bars on every floor, Starbucks Coffee on the 1st floor and a food court on the 3rd floor where you can eat various dishes such as sandwiches, naengmyeon (korean cold noodles), Japanese food, etc. On the 7th floor there is a lounge and a balcony, and on the 8th floor there is a restaurant. If you have spare time before the movie, you can rest on the 7th or 8th floor. Chungmuro, where Daehan theater is located, is also famous for pet shops. Since there are many pet shops there, it will be a pleasant walk to look around the pet shops nearby.
