Everland Sledding

Description :
Everland, located in Yongin, is a huge theme park, which
includes a zoo, snow sledding, and botanical garden. Everland has
three distinct themes, Festival World, Caribbean Bay, and Speedway.
Festival World has a global fair, American Adventure, Magic Land,
European Adventure, and Equatorial Adventure. Each was built with
it’s own uniqueness and style. Caribbean Bay is the very first water
park in Korea. Its main feature is the wave pool, and many people
come here in the summer just to ride those waves. Speedway is also
the very first of its kind in Korea. Car racers can practice here,
and it is also training spot for learning about the automobile
culture. The entire course measures 2.225 km. The average width of
the track is 11m. The straight distance of the area is 450 meters,
the road is covered with asphalt, and it can accommodate about
35,000 spectators. Everland also features the Glen Ross Golf Club,
Automobile Museum, Sportspark, and Hoam Art Gallery.

Korean Folk Village Sledding Hills
Address : San 55 Bora-ri, Giheung-eup, Yongin-si
Description :
The Korean Folk Village Sledding Hills possess 3 slopes, one for
adults(140m long), one for children(60m long) and a snow square(20m
long for infants.) Since the hills are an accessory facility service
of the Korean Folk Village, there is also a big family park. When
you reach the market within the folk village, you can taste Korea’s
traditional appetizers served with drinks such as injeolmi, bukeogui,
bindaeddeok, and pajeon, as well as the alcohol, dongdongju. There
is a bus every 20 minutes going to the Korean Folk Village at the
Seoul Nambu Terminal (40 min)
Directions :
Get off at Suwon Station, subway line #1 -> There is a Suwon
business office if you cross the crossing on the left of the Suwon
Station.

Yanji Pine Ski Resort is a resort town 40 minutes away from
Seoul. There are slopes ,Varying in steepness , which satisfies both
the beginners and experts. The yellow Course maintains a steady
slope, and is just right for beginners. There is a free shuttle bus

Yongin Hanhwa Resort Sledding Hills

Yongin Hanhwa Resort Sledding Hills Range is about 50 minutes.
away from Seoul, with a main slope (150m long, 80m wide), and a
children’s slope (30m long, 20m wide). The Resort’s favorite
facility is of course the snow sledding Hills. This resort, however,
is a first class resort, and besides the snow sleighing, there are
condominiums and a 18-hole golf range that business travellers can

Hoam Art Gallery

Description :
Hoam Art Gallery is located inside the Yongin Everland in
Gyeonggi-do. You can appreciate Korea's best artworks in the natural
outdoor surroundings, enjoy the traditional culture at the gallery,
and the entertainment at Everland nearby. Looking around the
traditional Korean stylized main building and the outdoor exhibit 'Huiwon',
the recreation of a traditional Korean garden, will be a great
experience in appreciating Korean culture. At Huiwon, you can drink
Korean tea and eat traditional snacks. In front of the gallery, you
can take a stroll around the fountain. The scenery is beautiful
enough to be used as background for soap opera shoots. In the main
building, the representative cultural artworks of Korea are
exhibited. You can learn about Korean history and culture by viewing
the artwork. On the weekends, you can take part in the Dotson
program, where the culture volunteers guide you through the gallery
and the outdoor exhibit Huiwon. These guided tours are given in
Korean, English and Japanese so it will be good for foreigners to
visit on the weekends. On the first floor of the gallery, featuring
the National Treasure-rated artwork, there are 42 tombs and Buddhist
artwork. On the second floor there are paintings, and traditional
Korean ceramics such as Buncheongsagi, Cheongja and Baekja
displayed.

Caribbean Bay

Korean Folk Village

Description :
Korean Folk Village recreates the daily life of the Korean life
in the latter days of the Joseon Period, and it is a very popular
tourist attraction not only for Koreans but for foreigners as well.
Here, they rebuilt the class system culture and living standards of
those days, including 260 traditional houses, and 30,000 folk
artifacts on display. Through looking at places such as a farmer’s
place, folk house, government building, lecture hall, herbal
medicine house, school, blacksmith, street market, 99-room Yangban
mansion, we can come to know what the people of Joseon were like.
When you go through all the places in the Folk Village, it’s like
you’ve traveled in a time machine back in time to the Joseon Period
– the feeling of immersion is enhanced by the sheer size of the
environment and the attention to the details of the recreated
artifacts. During special days and holidays, various folk games and
events take place here, such as seesaw, spin the top, swing jumping,
and others. The Folk Village is composed of the Folk Scenery
District, which deals with recreating and displaying relevant folk
artifacts and folk cultural treasures, Exhibit District, which deals
with exhibiting cultural treasures and folk artifacts, and “Jangteo
Gongbanggeori”, which deals with traditional foods, souvenirs, and
pottery shows. Beginning from 1997, the Family Park opened to
provide traditional displays and recreational space for families.
Beside these, Folk Village has other facilities such as a Youth
Hostel, Drive-in theater, restaurants, stroller and wheelchair
service, baggage room, police station, post office, and other
convenient facilities.
