Asia's most exciting tropical
oceanarium, Underwater World Singapore, gives the visitor a fish-eye
view of the mysteries of the sea. Its submerged tunnel, with a moving
walkway, takes visitors past more than 2,500 marine creatures from 250
species. Not all of Underwater World's attractions are below the
surface. The Turtle Pool is home to the endangered Green and Hawksbill
turtles. Visitors will relish the contact with marine creatures such
as starfish and sea cucumbers in the aptly named Touch Pool.
Be dazzled by the display of seahorses, weedy sea dragon which
resembles the mythical Chinese dragon, the alien - like jellyfish, and
the graceful dugong-Gracie. Visitors can explore more exhibits along
the corridor or the Living Reef. Underwater World's latest exhibit -
Singapore Wetlands, include a variety of freshwater and estuarine
creatures such as the Oriental Small-Clawed Otter, Monitor Lizard,
Mangrove Horseshoe Crab, Archerfish, Mud Crab, Mudskipper and sea
Turtle. These creatures, commonly found in singapore and neighbouring
countries are difficult to spot in the wild as they are either
nocturnal or would hide at the first sight of man. Yet others are
found in murky water or locations that are not easy to access. Now,
Visitors can enjoy a close encounter with the extraordinary animals of
the wetlands in air-conditioned comfort. Underwater World Singapore is
the only aquarium in the world, outside Japan, where visitors are able
to explore the wonders of the ocean at night and discover for
themselves what really happens in the inky depths (Night Ocean comes
alive daily from 6.45 pm)
Visitors can also dive with the sharks (shark and reef tanks) for SGD
95 which includes provision of diving gear. You have to be at least 12
years old and in good health. 5 sessions are available daily (each
session approximately 30 minutes in water) (9.30am - 10.40am, 11.30am
- 12.40pm, 1.30pm - 2.40pm, 3.30pm - 4.40pm and 5pm - 6.10pm). Advance
booking is required, but if you are on Sentosa and wish to dive on the
same day, please check on the availability with the staff at
Underwater World . Organised dinners in the submerged tunnel or
changing exhibit hall can be arranged for private functions and
incentive travel groups.
At our "Meet the Dolphins" session at Dolphin Lagoon, visitors are
able to watch the adorable pink dolphins perform their natural
behaviours such as spyhop, tail -flapping, vocalizations, etc.
Visitors may also get the opportunity to wade into the shallow waters
to touch these wonderful and highly intelligent marine mammals.
Dolphin Lagoon's latest program - Swim with the Dolphins, will allow
you to work closely with a trainer and experience great human-dolphin
interaction and play. At only SGD 100 per participant, Swim with the
Dolphins is an exclusive program where only up to 2 participants are
given the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the
lovely pink dolphins at each session. Participants will learn to build
a relationship with the pink dolphins during the interaction and gain
