Tapeng Bay National Scenic Area

ADMINISTRATION INTRODUCTION
In recent years, recreational activities have been more popular due to a higher national income and better living standards. In addition, a national bi-weekly working plan was implemented in January, 2001 with a corresponding increase in the number of tourists. In response to this trend, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, R.O.C. (The "Bureau") has decided to select an advantageous location to develop a multifunctional recreation area and to meet this increased personal demand for tourist facilities in both quantity and quality. Through these facilities we hope to build a world-wide reputation to attract more international tourists. The Bureau has decided on a location representing the desired potential and geographic advantages: Tapeng Bay. In 1992, Tapeng Bay was evaluated and designated as a national scenic area.
