AMPHOE MUANG

Wat Buppharam or Wat Plai Klong
is situated in Moo 3 Tambon Wangkrachae, two kilometers from the Trat's inner city. The temple was built in 1652 during the reign of King Prasart Thong in the late Ayutthaya period. Tourist spots include the ashes of the Buddha, Buddha images of different styles and historical sites such as the vihara, the belfry, Thai style priest house.

Wat Saphan Hin
is expected to be at least 100 years old but no evidence indicating when it was exactly built has been found. Inthe midlle of the pond is situated and old church, a kilometer the temple. Two lines of stones are used in communication between the two banks and the church.

The shrine of the town's guardian spirit
lies on Luk Muang Road near Wat Yothanimit, it is different from other shrines. The structure features a Chinese shag.It was assumed that. The Great King Taksin set up the shrine while assembling his army to redeem the independence of the country. While seizing Trat, it was said that, Frence troop saw the province's residents pay respect to the shrine every day.

Laem Sok
was used as the residence of Krom Luang Chumpornkhet Udomsak, the father of Thai Royal Naval Army, Red sand can be found nearby the area and site of interests are villages of fishermen, namely Laem Hin and Ao Cho. They brought an elephant to extract the pole of the shrine but didn't fall. The shrine was later renovated and is paid respect by residents in the province up to present.

Thai Red Cross Association's Khao Lan Center
is set on Trat-Klong Yai Road, in Tambon Mai Roodabout 50 Km form trat's inner city. The center was established on the occasion of the 60 th anniversary of Her Majest the Queen in 1992. In the area are situated Ratchakarun Hall and the museum in which the exhibition featuring the history, lifestyle and household items of Cambodian refugees.

Lan Sai Beach
is situated on Trat-Klong Yai Road about 5 Km from the 31 of the right of the 318 Highway.

Saphan Hin Waterfall
lies on Trat -Klong Yai Road about 2 Km from 31-32 of the right of the 318 Highway.

Wat Yothanimit
or "Wat Bot "used to be the site to hold Tue Nam Pra Pipat sattaya Ceremony, or the state ceremony in which government officials have to drink the oath of allegiance to declare that they would be loyal to the country, in the time when King Taksin gathered his army officers here after Ayutthaya was broken by Burmese army. The main site of interest is the mural painting in the elder church. "Resident Kampot"is situated on Luk Muang Road in the municipal area. The site used to be the governor's house in the peirod when French Troop ruled the province. The three storey building features colonial architecture. The building was used as a government office but nowsadays was in a state of declining.

AMPHOE BORAI

Talat Ploy
Talat Ploy, or Gem Markets in Amploe Borai is noted as a source of rubies or the so-called Thapthim Siam. Interesting jewel markets are Talat Phloi Hua Thung, Talat Phloi Ban Sa Yai, Talat Phloi Nong Bon, etc. The business hours of these markets begin from dawn till 10 a.m. Presently, the jewel business has come to a recess because less rubies are available. Visitors are welcome to explore the markets and purchase gems on sale.

AMPHOE KHAO SA MING

Wat Muang Kao Saen Tum

in Khao Tah Moh, Moo 7 Baan Erem. Tambol Praneet. The temple is 38 km far from Amphoe Khao Saming Office. In the southern area lies dark brown stone ingots of different shapes from 4 to 9 sides. The stones are 30-150 cm. in length and weigh from 10-100 Km. The way the stones are put and piled up suggests that the area once used to be a place of worship. When Knocked upon, some stones give the sound resembling that of belts. The Historical site is believed to be built in pre-BC time.

AMPHOE KLONG YAI

Baan Chuen Beach
formerly named Maro, lies on the right parting way 3 Km from Km 59-60 before reaching Amphoe Klong Yai. It is said that sand on the beach is the most delicate of all.

Baan Hat Lek
is a border billage in Amphoe Khlong Yai. It is a popular market for visitors to look for foreign goods at a relatively low price. From this point, the border of Cambodia can be viewed. In addition, visitors can travel from Ban Hat Lek to Cambodia's Ko Kong within 1-2 hours.

Mai Rood or Samran Beach
is stiuate 5 Kilometmr far from Km. 57-58 on the right of 318 Highway. The footpath down to the beach is in front of the community center.

Sai Kaew Beach
is 200 meters from Km. 41-42 of the right of 318 Highway.

Sai Ngam Beach
is 300 meters far from Km. 41 of the right of 318 Highway.

AMPHOE LAEM NGOB

Laem Ngob
lies 17 Km. away from the inner city of Trat along 3184 Highway. The big pier where tourists can get ferry service to islands such as Ko Chang, Ko Kradat, Ko Wai, Ko Koodetc. is about 500 meter far from the Office of the Amphoe. Besides, in the area tourists can find shops selling souvenirs, sea food shops and other products like shrimp paste, dried shrimp fish sauce and ngob (kind of hat worn by Thai female peasants made of bamboos and plam leaves) of different patterns.

Ko Pui
is an isle near the land of Baan Laem Aun. Therefore, transportation to the isle is very convenient and safe in every season. Ko Pui is very convenient and safe in every seson. Ko Pui is very cool and shady as it is plenty of coconut trees and herb orchard. Situated on the isle is the well the clay of which once was used to make white chalk, used by former Thai people as an after bath. The well was once visited by King Rama V during his royal trip to Trat. Beaches on Ko Pui are the mixture of slush and sand. Thus, the area is not appropriate for swimming but for serene rest. A boat trip for hire to Ko Pui is available at Laem Ngob and Laem Aun, 5 minitues from Laem Ngob-Baan San Tung Intersection along 3156 Highway.

Taan Ku Bay
is situated in Tambol Bang Pid, 12 Km. from Amphoe Laem Ngob along 3156 Highway and 8 Km. from Laem Ngob - Baan San Tung .Intersection. The area is 4 Km. from the main road. Beautiful beaches the bay is for tourists to relax. Food shops are easily found Baan products such as shrimp Paste, dried Shimp and fish sauce are available in the village as well.

KOH CHANG SUB DISTRICT

Ko Chang National Park
occupies the total 650 sq. kilometers. The area comprises 47 islands the most important of which is Ko chang. Other islands rich with scenic beauty are Ko Klum, Ko Ngam, Ko Lao Ya, Ko Rung, etc. In Thailand, Ko Chang is the second biggest to Phuket. The island occupies 429 sq. kilometers. Ko Chang is plenty of high mountains and cliffs. The highest mountain is Salak Petch Peak (744 meters), the second and the third are Chomprasat and Khao Hom respectively. As abundant with virgin forest which has water sources, Ko Chang has many waterfalls. Other places of interests around Ko Chang include Ko Noi Travel To Other Islands Most visitors come to Amphoe Laem Ngob where there are 3 piers namely Laem Ngob and Ko Chang Centre Point, offering daily boat services to islands such as Ko Mak, Ko Wai, and Ko Kham.

Koh Kut
is the farthest island from the coast of Trat. Its size ranks as the fourth of all Thailand's islands or the second to Ko Chang in Trat. The island covers an area of approximately 105 sq.km or 65,625 rai.It is 25 km in length and 12 km in width. Its natural features include mountains and plains where many streams originate and some become waterfalls.One famous waterfall is Nam Tok Khlong Chao flows all throughout the year. It is an ideal place for swimming, consisting of 3 tiers; the upper two tiers are running streams and the lower one is a large pond. In 1911, King Rama VI paid a royal visit to this waterfall and named it 'Nam Tok Anam Kok' to commemorate Ong Chiang Su. In addition; there are beaches with crystal-clear sea popular among visitors suach as Taphao Beach, Khlong Chao Beach, Khlong Hin Beach, Phrao Beach, etc. Accommodation with a private atmosphere is available for visitors at the inner sea of Ko Kut, and the other two islands, Ko Rat and Ko Mai Si, opposite to Ko Kut. Travel to Ko Kut Most visitors to Ko Kut have to purchase a package tour offered by resort operators on Ko Kut at different prices that includes food, accommodation, and a boat fare. A boat for rent is also available apart from a ferry boat leaving Dan Kao Pier and Laem Ngob Pier.

Ko Maak
is a large island located between Ko Chang and Ko Kut Most of its plains area is coconut plantations. The whole area of this island covers 16 sq.km or 90,000 rai with a round distance of 27 km. Long beaches and crystal clear sea are the splendid attractions of the island. Accommodation is available for visitors along the beaches of the island's bays. Furthernore, it is possible to hire a boat trip to nearby islets.

Ko Kradad
is situated northeastern away from Ko Maak. Fomerly, the area was abundant with Kradad trees; hence, the name of the island. The place was the first island to have the land title deed since the period of King Rama V. During the time French colonisation invaded the Southeast Asia. France was trying hard to seize some areas of the Kingdom including Kradad King Rama V, therefore, ordered that the land title deed of Ko Kradad be issued. Tourists attractions include the white long beach.
